At Simtiar Services, we provide caring homes and personalized support for children, youth and adults in Edmonton and Leduc. Our Group Living, Post-Majority / TAP and Adult Supported Independent Living programs bring together trauma-informed care, therapeutic support and culturally responsive practices to promote safety, belonging and everyday independence. We plan with the person, explain changes, respect their voice and honour their culture, identity, language and family and community connections. Therapeutic support is shaped around individual needs, with clinical collaboration where appropriate. Our Family Reunification & Preservation service strengthens family relationships and supports safe, coordinated transitions. We also welcome inquiries about PDD-related developmental disability support.

Adults living with developmental disabilities can enquire about individualized daily-living, home and community support planning.
Access & funding
PDD-related services depend on individual suitability, the approved support plan and any required provider authorizations. Family-managed arrangements can be discussed with the person and their authorized team.
Discuss PDD-related supportPDD eligibility and funding are determined through the appropriate process. An autism diagnosis alone does not establish eligibility. Simtiar confirms the service fit and required approvals before services begin.

Family Reunification & Preservation.
Simtiar works alongside children, youth, families and referring teams to strengthen family relationships, support stability and preserve meaningful connections. We help families build on their strengths to sustain safe care together, and support a planned return to family when it is safe, appropriate and part of the agreed care plan.
Family preservation
Practical, individualized support helps families maintain caring relationships and manage everyday challenges. We work with parents, caregivers and their support network to identify what is working and where additional help may strengthen stability.

Family reunification
When a child or young person is living away from family, we support meaningful connection and gradual preparation for a return home where appropriate. Planning brings together the young person, family and authorized care team.

Family relationships. Cultural continuity.
The child or young person’s safety, voice and well-being guide support. We value connections with parents, siblings, extended family and kin, and respect identity, language, traditions and community. Involvement from Elders, Knowledge Keepers or the person’s Nation is guided by the family and community, with appropriate consent and agreed care arrangements.
Support is coordinated with the authorized care team. The scope, staffing, availability, funding and any required approvals are confirmed before services begin.
LEARNING · WORK · COMMUNITY
Skills Training & Supported Employment.
Simtiar supports adults, including those with more complex needs, to build practical skills, access employment opportunities and take part in meaningful activities. Support reflects each person’s strengths, interests and goals. Individuals can participate on a full-time or part-time basis.
Skills training & everyday learning
We provide job training alongside activities that encourage social connection, literacy and life skills. Practical learning and encouragement help individuals build confidence at their own pace.

We also support employers interested in hiring people with disabilities and creating meaningful paid employment opportunities. Together, we discuss the role and the support needed to help the individual participate and contribute in the workplace.
